I have been loving the bursts of plum I’ve been seeing in interiors lately. I especially enjoy it when it’s paired with a great gray, or boldly paired with turquoise or gold! Here’s a few examples of plum done oh-so-right.
I picked up a quart of a great plum from HD the other day. It’s “Folklore” from Behr.
The question is, will I be brave enough to put it on something? And the bigger question, if I put it on something, will someone buy it? ;) I’d hate to have the loveliest most daring plum dresser on the block sit around for ages because everyone admires her but doesn’t want her.
So, tell me: How do you feel about plum? Love it? Hate it? Does it excite you? Scare you?
I love that look! I would totally do that to my living room, but I don't think the hubby would go for it. :P
ReplyDeletethe first photo is my favorite with the plum accompanied by some white and black accents! <3
I've been deciding between eggplant and cranberry bridesmaid dresses. But this has convinced me that plum is a MUCH better way to go. It's a November wedding - it will be PERFECT!

ReplyDeleteI love it...the teal and plum room is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSO pretty! I would to have this color in my house, my husband probably wouldn't be too thrilled, but maybe for a little girl!
ReplyDeleteI think it is lush, and would look lovely with accents of either gold or silver!!
ReplyDeleteI adore plum. My bedding set is purple, and i think it's classy enough to be both masculine and feminine-depending on the accents of course.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the plum! Go for it.
ReplyDeleteMy daughters living area is done in plum and silver grey with red accents. It is gorgeous! Go for it!

I love the plum for the walls or the fabric/upholstery ... but I do not think I would like the color painted on furniture. Just my opinion, but I think that was what you were asking.
ReplyDeleteSince purple is my favorite color, no matter the shade, I would say yum to plum! And now I desperately want that rug in your third picture! I think the plum would look great on furniture, maybe with some silver dry brushed over it.
ReplyDeleteMy husband loves plum in small doses. Our bedroom is mostly different tones of beige with plum accents. It looks great and is timeless.
ReplyDeleteI love it!!!
ReplyDeleteGo for it! I think of plum as an accent color, so if the dresser is displayed with accessories, it would sell for sure.
ReplyDeleteoooh, i love love love the plum room by martha stewart. i kinda have a crush on that golden yellow at the moment. thinking about redoing my bedroom and this make my heart happy!!
ReplyDeletePurple absorbs color-so it's really a neutral, and will go into most room decor. Everytime I see a purple room, I regret not being so bold. YES, it will be purchased, and QUICKLY, I might add.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!!!
