My Mom’s Storage Bench

Those of you who are privy to my Facebook previews saw when I picked up this great storage bench at Goodwill last week for $7.50.  It was almost immediately claimed by my momma, who has been looking for something for at the end of her bed.

The front is hinged and opens up like a bi-fold closet door.  It had a lot of great details going for it, but the huge knocker pulls were a little out of scale (and the end two completely superfluous.)  Of course, it would be painted a lovely off-white and distressed to bring out those great details.  I finished it up this evening and it’s ready to go (hear that, ma?)  :)

I’m thinking those original knocker pulls just might be repurposed into a great hand towel rack for the bathroom.  Wouldn’t that be great?

  7. Oh I love it. What a smart move to leave the two end doors without hardware. I think it cleans it up and now it is perfect. I bet your mom is so pleased. :)

  14. That's my girl, taking complete advantage of all those who are pricing impaired. We need to put together a complete US road map of all those thrift store workers who are pricing impaired. ;)

  15. How is it that we both live in AZ, but my Goodwill would have priced that at 39.99? I guess I'll have to come up and shop with you sometime. I really love this piece, Ann Marie! You can't even tell where the original hardware was. Usually I can't fill in that perfectly. That is so sweet to do that for your mom. Where did you find the new pulls? I love em! Thanks for linking, friend.
