Hickory Dickory Dock…

… I’ve been inspired to make clocks.
They’re cute and they’re funky,
to useful from junky.
Hickory dickory dock.

(Okay, so I’m officially a big nerd.)

So, here’s the story.  Once upon a time, there was a sad cabinet door in the free pile at the Habitat Restore.

His brothers were repurposed into new cabinet doors for a fantastic armoire, but his second life was to take on a little more unexpected a form.

With just some on-hand paint, the workings from a $1.50 thrift store clock, and a DiscHanger that I got in my Tour de Thrift goody bag, Mr. Nobody-would-even-pay-a-buck-for-me-at-the-Restore took on a fun new persona as quite fantastic clock!  :)

I’m so inspired!  I want to go out and make everything into a clock!  Be on the look out.  We may just have to change our name to Clocks-R-Us.  ;)

  2. That is adorable! I admire your vision to see the beauty in the junk. :) Don't you just LOVE the restore. You can get things for so cheap...and give to charity at the same time. It's a win win.

  3. I love it! I've transformed many of those doors from the ReStore. Chalkboards, painted signs, cork bords.....so many possibilities, though I never considered a clock :) Going on my list!

Im in the process of starting a business& I've revamped several cabinet doors to the usual chalk boards or serving trays but I've never seen one made into a clock before. I think I might have to "borrow" your idea. Check out my blog of you get a chance www.revampedhomefurnishings.blogspot.com
